• Guacamelee is a "metroidvania" style action-platformer with a heavy focus on luchadore's and subtle references to video game culture. Metroidvania games have a habit of being addicting, but does Guacamelee do enough to stand out among the rest?

  • DLC Quest is a satirical 2D platformer which takes the idea of DLC and applies it to literally, everything. You will have to buy everything from new quests down to the animations and sounds that your character makes! It's an amusing jab at the world of microtransactions that we currently live in, but does it offer any real value? Read on!

  • Super House of Dead Ninjas is a procedurely generated platformer in which you'll be racing your way to the bottom of a tower filled with foes waiting to cut you down. This is another one of those games that really belongs in an arcade because it's all about high scores and showing off your ninja skills. Read on and I'll tell you why this is one of the best arcade games you'll play this year.

  • Tiny and Big initially attracted me for looks alone. I know it is never a good idea to trust looks, but I took a chance and found a weird journey mainly about underpants, but with a lot of platforming. It also involved a lot of cutting and moving gigantic rocks. Read on and I'll tell you more.

  • I knew I had to play Sideway: New York simply based on the style the first time I saw it. It is a 2D platformer where you are a piece of graffiti moving across the walls and rooftops of New York. The only question was, could the gameplay back up the idea? Hit the jump!

  • They Bleed Pixels is a 2D platformer that brings a pixelated style, a lot of blood and a stiff challenge to the table. This game is up there among the toughest I have played, but also one of the most fine-tuned games I have played. On an unrelated note, it's also got the most kicking I've ever done in a game. • Rotieer has recently been released on Desura for $5.99. This game is a sort of platformer-puzzle hybrid in which you can move both yourself or rotate the world around you. Each stage has you trying to move a ball to an endpoint while trying not to lose the ball. Simple enough concept, I could see this being both fun and challenging. Check out the trailer above and the jump for more info.

  • BEEP is a physics based platformer in which you travel around the galaxy to different planets to collect anti-matter. A "BEEP" is actually the name of the robot type that you use to explore planets. There is quite a bit of content in BEEP, including many physics based puzzles. Read on though to see why it didn't quite exceed expectation.

Normally $9.99, until March 13th you can get Psychonauts on Steam for only $4.99! It's a few years old now and starting to show it's age, but is definitely one of my favorite platformers of all time.
