• Malicious was featured in last month’s Playstation Plus update for free. Otherwise, this unique game only sets you back $9.99. The stylized look of Malicious suggests a lengthy JRPG, but it is actually an action game akin to Dynasty Warriors or Devil May Cry.

  • I have now "played" through Proteus four times in an effort to write up a review and failed at three different drafts. The main problem being that, Proteus isn't a game in the traditional sense of the word; it's hardly a game by any definition of the word. Proteus is more like an interactive science museum exhibit in which you get to experience a world comprised of audio queues and fast changing seasons. Read on and I'll do my best to explain.

  • It's Sunday afternoon and while I was browsing through Steam's random deals, I noticed a few $10 games that I was unfamiliar with. They were all 75% off ($2.49), so I picked up the adventure game Syberia and the twin-stick shooter, Gatling Gears. Hit the jump and I'll tell you more about them.

  • Unmechanical is an adventure game in which you take control of a robot searching for the way out. You have the ability to fly around and move freely, but you’ll be spending most of your time trying to solve puzzles that are blocking your ability to move forward. Unmechanical does a great job of making itself stand out and also at making it hard to walk away.

  • Dear Esther is not something I could have prepared myself to experience, which makes it a very difficult thing to write a review about. Read on and I'll tell you how it went for me.

The Walking Dead Episode I by Telltale is an awesome adventure game set in the Walking Dead universe. I wanted to share some of my experience here, so I put together this gallery to showcase it. However, I must caution, there are spoilers in here for the game. If you're still in, hit the jump to check out the gallery.

  • Though this has been available on other platforms for a little while, just added to Steam for PC is Warp at the price of $9.99. This science lab experiment gone wrong is not to be confused with your more cartoony Splosion' Man as this game looks to be full of some hardcore blood spilling action. Check out the trailer above and more details after the jump.

  • Puzzle Agent 2 is the followup to 2010's Puzzle Agent. It is one of my favorite point and click adventures as it combines a whacky, Fargo style mystery with brain teaser puzzles. The first game was a great intro to the series and here we have a great followup. Read on and tell you why.

  • 1000 Amps is a platforming focused adventure game in which you must make your way through the dark lighting it up. Everything you walk on will become illuminated with light to help you see around and also to allow you to use special abilities. 1000 Amps is a game I want to like, but am simply having a hard time doing so. Read on and I'll tell you why.

  • New Release: Rijn the Specpyre in... Manor of the Damned! via Desura for $5.99 (30% off if you get over there soon). This game looks to bring about retro style graphics and sound to take you on a vampire filled adventure. Playing like the classic Zelda games, you'll be top down roaming all over the place to help rid a village of the specpyre family. Looks like a good time to me. Watch the trailer above, more info at the jump and of course tell us what you think in the comments!

  • Axel and Pixel is a point and click adventure with a fairly unique art style. Just looking at it gives you a taste of the weirdness that lies within as this artist and his dog go on an adventure.

  • Axel and Pixel is a beautiful looking hand drawn adventure game normally priced at $4.99, but for this weekend you can get it 50% off ($2.49)! This game has intrigued me for awhile and must have intrigued some others because it even made it's way to XBLA (though much more expensive!). Check out the trailer above and hit the jump for more info.

  • Today only you can get Dead Mountaineer's Hotel on Steam for 75% off, bringing it down from $9.99 to only $2.49. Looks to actually be a decently interesting mystery game, though the pre-rendered enviornments make it look more dated than it actually is. More info after the jump.

  • Genre: Adventure / Platform: PC, Mac / Price: $19.99 updated (2.1.12): This game has dropped in price and is no longer technically a "breaking the bank" game, it can now be bought for $9.99! However, the article was written at a point in time where the game costs twice that and will stay as originally written

Machinarium is a point and click adventure, a genre that is pretty much solely kept alive by Telltale and various indie developers. Machinarium is no exception, though it is an exceptionally fantastic game. As you play through Machinarium you'll notice that like a proper well-crafted machine the creators gave their all in every aspect of the game. The art is top notch, the audio is top notch, the story is touching, the environments and puzzles are original and clever and the characters throughout the game are unique and interesting. There is no downside to this game.
