10 Dollar Gaming

  • Today's daily deal on Steam is Capsized, a 2D platformer about being shipwrecked on a foreign planet. For about the next 24 hours you can get it for 75% off of it's $9.99 price tag, making it only $2.49. Having played a decent amount of Capsized (but for some reason not reviewed) I can say this game is definitely worth $2.49. It's a cool adventure and built well, but you can watch the trailer above and judge for yourself. Also, hit the jump for more details.

  • Nitronic Rush is now available through Desura for free! Nitronic Rush was developed by students at DigiPen and looks to combine features from all sorts of crazy racing games to make one really crazy racing games. I am being reminded of Wipeout, Split/Second and even some Mario Kart all at the same time. Not to mention, you can't beat free! Check out the trailer and jump for more info.

  • Ace on Steroids is now available through Desura for the very low price of $1.99. Ace on Steroids is an updated Asteroids style game which has some beautiful looking graphics and that classic Asteroids gameplay. Though, the interesting part is actually that this game comes with all the source code to try to teach you how to build games using XNA. Check out the trailer and as always, more details after the jump.

  • Avoid is now available on Desura for only $1.75 (regularly $3.50)! Avoid is an arcade style game which simply has you avoiding blocks to stay alive. It reminds me very much of the no-shooting modes in Waves or Geometry Wars 2. The trailer does a good job of explaining it all, so check it out above then hit the jump for more info.

  • Recently added to Desura is an all new text adventure (but with graphics) game called Incursion. This game boasts "nostalgic" graphics (pixely) though plays out like old text adventures. Unfortunately the trailer does a lot of talking about how good it is and not a lot of showing it. I'd like to see how this game really plays out since I suspect it is essentially a point and click adventure. Available for $4.99 currently, $9.99 regularly. Check the trailer above and hit the jump for more info!

  • An all new retro RPG has arrived! Dragon Fantasy is now available for purchase on Desura for $4.99. This retro style RPG looks to charm you with it's 16-bit style graphics and gameplay in a humorous adventure. Although it has just come to PC, it is also available on your iOS platforms so you can take it on the go. Check out the trailer above and hit the jump for more info.

  • Released yesterday on Steam is the new RTS/TBS civil war game Gettysburg: Armored Warfare. War games aren't my personal favorite, so I'll stick to the facts here. This game is available for $9.99 and you can watch the trailer above to judge for yourself then follow the jump for more details.

  • Rotieer has recently been released on Desura for $5.99. This game is a sort of platformer-puzzle hybrid in which you can move both yourself or rotate the world around you. Each stage has you trying to move a ball to an endpoint while trying not to lose the ball. Simple enough concept, I could see this being both fun and challenging. Check out the trailer above and the jump for more info.

  • Today's Steam daily deal is Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I marked down from $9.99 to only $3.39 for a savings of 66%. Although a childhood favorite, the Sonic series has slowly destroyed it's credibility over the years. This looks to be a pretty true 2D, fast moving Sonic game, but there is no doubt I am a bit skeptical. Check out the trailer above and hit the jump for more info!
